Quadratic dark energy—where pressure depends on density squared—creates an evolving parameter that steers the universe toward either phantom-like acceleration or standard expansion. Phase-space analysis reveals the model approaches the phantom divide without crossing it, sidestepping a tension with DESI observations. The framework offers a minimal alternative to standard dark energy models while matching recent cosmological data.
