Did Super-Kamiokande catch dark matter annihilating into neutrinos?

Super-Kamiokande detected more electron antineutrinos than expected in the 20 MeV range, normally attributed to distant supernovae. The authors propose this excess comes instead from dark matter annihilating into neutrinos—a scenario that points to a thermal dark matter candidate weighing tens of MeV. Upcoming experiments like JUNO can test this hypothesis directly.
