Does evolving dark energy resolve gravity's biggest tension?

Dark Energy Survey measurements reveal the universe's gravitational potentials deepening more slowly than general relativity expects under standard assumptions. Models where dark energy strengthens over time—consistent with DESI observations—reduce this tension from 3 sigma down to 1.6–2.2 sigma, but don't eliminate it. The team concludes we need more data to tell whether evolving dark energy is the answer, or if something stranger (modified gravity or hidden dark sector interactions) lurks underneath.
