Physicists refined the rules for how decaying massive particles affect the light element abundances measured today. The update uses better measurements of primordial helium and more careful calculations of particle showers using modern simulations. The result: tighter limits on which hidden particles could have existed in the early universe without conflicting with observations of helium and lithium.
