How to teach AI to understand CAD designs the way engineers do

CAD models store designs as exact mathematical surfaces and curves—not the point clouds most AI uses. BRepCLIP translates this native CAD format into tokens describing surface types (cylinders, NURBS) and curves, then aligns them with text and images via contrastive learning. Result: 40% better retrieval on ABC dataset and stronger zero-shot classification, plus a better metric for evaluating AI-generated CAD.
