Predicting gravity's kick at near-light speed, to all orders

Michael Saavedra

May 18, 2026

When two massive objects fly past each other at nearly the speed of light, how hard does gravity deflect them? By resumming quantum scattering amplitudes in the small-mass limit, this work captures all large-energy corrections to the gravitational impulse at once, rather than order by order. The results agree with known post-Minkowski expansions and extend predictions to eleventh order — a benchmark that would otherwise require enormous independent calculations.
