Can spacetime torsion explain cosmic acceleration without dark energy tuning?

Einstein-Cartan gravity extends general relativity by letting matter with quantum spin twist spacetime itself — a property called torsion. Treating the observable universe's edge as the quantum gravity length scale and including a realistic spinning fluid, the torsion contribution shifts dark energy's equation of state toward -1 and even allows it to cross that threshold, all without ad hoc assumptions. The resulting picture — accelerating expansion that gradually weakens — aligns with recent DESI survey hints that dark energy may be evolving.
