A black hole with magnetic poles stores hidden angular momentum

May 21, 2026
When electric charges from both ordinary and dark matter sit motionless near magnetic monopoles, the combined system quietly accumulates angular momentum — no motion required. The same charges near a magnetically charged black hole, treated as small perturbations, make the black hole look axially symmetric and rotating from far away. This electromagnetic sleight of hand connects dark photon theory to measurable black hole geometry.
