Which dark matter candidates has physics already ruled out?

A systematic sweep of electroweak triplet dark matter models finds that three of the four minimal candidates are already dead: ruled out by combining relic density measurements, direct detection experiments, or both. The lone survivor — a fermionic triplet with zero hypercharge — remains alive but cornered, sitting precisely within the projected reach of next-generation indirect detection experiments. If those experiments come up empty, this entire class of minimal dark matter models is finished.
