Can QCD sum rules predict rare decays of exotic lambda baryons?

May 22, 2026

Using QCD light-cone sum rules, researchers computed how often a bottom lambda baryon decays into two heavier lambda states via weak interaction. Their prediction for one decay channel matches experimental data, establishing confidence in their approach to forecast the other, currently unmeasured decay—a benchmark for future precision measurements.
Published as Semileptonic decay of $Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c (2860)^+/Λ_c(2625)^+\ell^-\overlineν_\ell$ within QCD light-cone sum rules arXiv:2605.23716
