A new one-dimensional spin model has local multi-site interactions that mimic the famous transverse field Ising model's algebra, yet its spectrum is vastly more degenerate. The extra degeneracies arise from a set of local conserved quantities that act like classical background fields. The system emerges naturally from a multi-site generalization of the Yang-Baxter equation, providing a framework for constructing entire families of disguised Ising models.
