The Migdal-Eliashberg approximation—a century-old tool for understanding how electrons couple to atomic vibrations—may miss crucial physics in strongly interacting quantum systems. This work tests that classical framework against modern models that include supersymmetry and holographic dualities, questioning whether the standard approach remains valid in extreme regimes.
