A new data library for networks where groups, not pairs, interact

Quintino Francesco Lotito, Lorenzo Betti, Berné Nortier, Alberto Montresor, Federico Battiston

Many real systems — co-authorship, disease spread, financial transactions — involve simultaneous interactions among three or more parties, not just pairs. The authors assembled hypergraphx-data, a curated open repository of real-world hypergraph datasets spanning social, biological, and financial domains, with support for weighted, directed, temporal, and multiplex structures. It fills a gap left by standard network repositories like SNAP, giving researchers a reproducible, versioned foundation for testing models that go beyond pairwise connections.
