A better quantum algorithm ingredient for hybrid quantum computers?

Hybrid quantum processors that combine oscillators with qubits are powerful but lack tailored algorithms. This work designs a "non-Abelian mixer" — a core ingredient in quantum optimization circuits — specifically for these machines, then tests it on the Max-Cut graph problem. Across all tested graph sizes, it beats the conventional mixer on both solution quality and the odds of finding the best answer outright.
