Researchers coded course offerings across U.S. quantum science master's programs into six skill categories and compared the results against industry competency benchmarks. Programs consistently emphasize quantum theory but vary widely in lab work, cross-disciplinary training, and professional development. The mismatch matters: as quantum hardware moves toward deployment, companies need graduates who can build and operate systems, not just describe them.
