Smarter quantum circuits for simulating bosons on a lattice

CV-ADAPT-VQE is an algorithm that constructs its own quantum circuit step-by-step, adding only the operations that most reduce a system's energy. Applied to two benchmark lattice models — the Bose-Hubbard model and the bosonic Kitaev chain — it produces significantly shallower circuits than standard approaches, meaning fewer error-prone quantum gates. Shallower circuits are critical for running meaningful calculations on today's noisy quantum hardware.
